10 Reasons to Register Art

What can Art Registration do for me?

1. Many art collectors and buyers want assurances when buying art as many do not know that much about art. They are not sure, feel insecure and want facts they can understand. Art registration provides buyer with the documentation and confidence with their fine art purchases.

2. The more substantiated physical proof that an artist can share with a buyer that confirms the artist is an artist, the better.

3. Providing documentation about an artist’s career is important to art collectors.

4. As important as providing documentation about the artist’s career is documenting each piece of art. Not only from a standpoint of “authentication,” but also from a point of why the artist painted it, the materials used, the inspiration of why they painted it, the meaning, etc.

5. Collectors, upon purchase, appreciate something extra, something special, something personal, something tangible that helps them understand what they just bought.

6. Good documentation always increases the value of art.

7. Provenance increases the value of art.

8. A Certificate or Letter of Authenticity increases the value of a piece of art and most importantly, the collector has more confidence in a purchase when provided one.

9. An artist has a much better chance of getting represented by an agent or an auction company when they can show documented history of past sales.

10. Art appraisers struggle with valuations of contemporary artists, especially if they have never had any works sell at auction. By registering art with National Fine Arts Title Registry provide another research tool to art appraisers is provided.
